Website Design & Development

Whether you're a small business serving a limited audience or a Fortune 500 company serving multiple audiences, your website should be one of the core components of your brand and your overall marketing strategy.  After all, all of us have had this conversation at one point or another:

Prospective Colleague/Partner/Employee/Customer (we'll keep it at PCPEC moving forward): So what's the name of your company, and what do you do there?

You: I run sales operations at a company called Widgets R' Us.

PCPEC: Sounds like a lot of fun.  My company is actually in the market some some widgets, what is your website so I can check it out?

You: It's...uh...um....oh yeah, widgetstoday.com....no, wait...it's widgetsworldwide.com...I think.

PCPEC: I don't have a pen anyway so I'll just Google it and track you down that way, thanks for the information.

You: Sounds...good. (Shortly after the conversation, you realize that the company website is not located at either of addresses you mentioned, that it's outdated because your CEO just doesn't think it's that important, and that there is NO way your PCPEC is ever going to find it on Google or any other search engine, because when the site was built no one seemed concerned about search engine optimization, or even knew what SEO meant.)

We can help.  We'll guide you through the process of addressing these core components:

Web Design

This seems obvious to most folks, but if you're going to build a website, whether it be your first site for your business or your 30th, you need to make sure the design is consistent with your current branding, target audience(s) preferences, and how you plan to use the site for marketing purposes.

Web Development

While most of this may happen behind the scenes, there is no site without some code.  There is no finding the site without a properly coded site.  Building a website is not about design only - web development is a critical piece of the puzzle.

Web Copy

Ahhhh...the pet peeve of a good marketer is poorly written website copy.  Or perhaps the copy is great, but all you did was insert the copy from your 88-page corporate brochure.  There's a right way and a wrong way to write web copy, both for usability and search engine optimization purposes.

Content Management

Unless your business truly isn't going to change over the next 3-5 years, don't you want the ability to alter the content of your website? The phrase "content management system" sometimes leaves non-technical folks feeling intimidated, but it shouldn't.  Sure, there are some very complicated content management systems out there, but the idea is to choose a content management system that works for your business and resources.

SEO

And last but not least, search engine optimization.  Even today, we still see otherwise knowledgeable and savvy clients who fail to address SEO during the website design and development process.  This is THE time to address SEO, as half the battle of SEO is making sure the site is structured correctly, that it contains relevant content, and that it contains a few elements that allow the search engines to understand immediately what the site is all about.

So there you have it.  If you work with us, we'll help you work through all of these elements to ensure that you build the most complete website possible.
